Smart Media Cards are commonly used in devices
such as faxes, printers, digital cameras, PDAs, game consoles, etc.This
installation guide supports Transcend’s TS16MVSSFDC, TS32MVSSFDC,
TS64MVSSFDC, and TS128MVSSFDC SmartMedia Cards.
Media Handling
In order to maximum the life and use of your SmartMedia Card, please follow these precautions:
- Avoid bending or exposing the card to excessive heat.
- Avoid storing the card in places with high humidity and/or static electricity.
- Handle the card by its edge and avoid touching the metallic contact surface.
- Do not remove the card while it is being used.
Installation Procedures
Please read the following instructions for general installation and usage of SmartMedia Cards. Refer to your device’s owner’s manual for specific issues.
- Turn off the device.
- Insert the storage card into the device. The storage card has a key notch preventing it from being improperly inserted.
- The card should slide freely into the slot until it reachesthe bottom, at which point, you will feel some resistance.Check for obstructions if the card does not slide into the slot freely.
- Installation is now complete.
Notes:
- Write-Protection
: Apply the metallic, adhesive write-protect sticker over the circular dot (B in the following illustration) to prevent recording over information you wish to archive.
- Data Transfer: Your device(s) should be provided with all the necessary software and hardware to transfer information from the SmartMedia Card to your computer.
- Format: Be careful! Do not re-format your SmartMedia card before usage.
