The Digital camera memory card is a small, removable mass storage
device. First introduced in 1994 by SanDisk. Also manufactured by
Lexar and Samsung, our range available includes popular brands such
as Kingston, Fuji and of course SanDisk. CF cards as they are also
known incorporate a controller and are about the size of a matchbook.
Compact Flash memory cards incorporate an Integrated Device Electronics
(IDE) interface similar to hard drives and ATA PC Cards. The CF Type
I card's thickness is less than one-half of a current PCMCIA Type
II card. Compactflash technology is widely used in such products as
portable and desktop computers, digital cameras, handheld data collection
scanners, PDAs and Pocket PCs. The Compact Flash Association sets
the specifications for CF cards.
